Bluebird Card

Here's a little blue bird made from a Little Scraps of Heaven file.  I think he is so cute.  I'm working on a birthday poster for my mom right now with him also only much bigger!  LOL.  LSHD was having a challenge to use 3 patterned papers and 4 flowers.  The 4 flowers bugs me a little...I normally use embellishments in 3's so I'm still not sure how I feel about this card.  Is it me?  I guess the way it is it is "balanced" and that is a good thing.  Hmmm....anyway, I am also entering it into these challenges.  Love it when I can combine.   Sometime's it's fun to see how many I can combine! LOL.

Christmas Mouse Page

I had a couple of cute little mice left over from some other Christmas pages and so I decided to add then to some family pictures and create a simple layout.  This was the last Christmas that we had my Grandma.  So glad that I had taken my camera!  My family teases me that I always take a lot of pictures, but I don't regret one of them!  Especially since when my Dad and Grandma passed, I was the one with the pictures.  Scrapbooking is a way for me to savor those memories and preserve those pictures.  I don't regret them.  Oh and this little mouse came from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  Cute huh!

Candy Boquette

My daughter is having a special birthday this year and I wanted to do some different fun things for her.  I saw these "pop" bouquets last year but had no occasion for them.  This year I decided this would be a fun and cute item to make for her and have it delivered to her at school.  After I completed the bouquet, I had found a post where she had made these cute bows out of newspaper.  Well, I thought that it would be cute out of some of the leftover paper I had from other projects for my daughter's birthday so... this cute bow became the topper to my bouquet.  I think it adds a nice touch!  She's going to love it!

Lion Love Step Card

Here's another step card.  Cute cute!  These little lion's are from Miss Kate's Cuttables and the face stamps are Treasure Box Designs stamps.  So cute on him!  Love it!

Kids Valentine's Day Cards

My kids are old enough that they don't really like the cutesy type stuff that I like so I was looking for a different style of card this year.  I came across this template from My Scrap Chick and decided it would work nicely.  My son loves green and my daughter loves Tiffany box blue so here are the cards that I came up with.  I really like how they turned out so I made several more to use as birthday cards because they didn't look so feminine or cutesy either.  I think they will be a win win!

Here's what the birthday ones look like.  I just stamped birthday on them.  Unfortunately my Happy Valentine's Day stamp won't fit on the ribbon so it will go on the inside of the other cards.  Oh well.  Either way, I think they make a nice Valentine's or Birthday Card.

Generic Tree Cards

Well I started out trying to copy a cute little "love you to pieces" card that I found online.  It was really cute and in the center of the card was a heart made of puzzle pieces.  Adorable.  However, when I "cut" my pieces, they didn't fit together quite right and so I scrapped that idea.  I happened to have these little trees left over from a layout 2 years ago and they matched so my "love you to pieces" card, turned into a generic tree card to be used for whatever the occasion.  It's OK though because I still like how these turned out even if they "weren't" the direction I was originally headed.  Does that ever happen to you?

Apple step card

And here's another step card.  I used this little leftover apple that I had and made this cute little card with it.  So fun!   Now it's time to find another card to try.  I'm really enjoying cards lately even though I usually don't do that many.  I already have some sympathy cards done, birthday cards done, Valentine's Day cards done, miscellaneous and even some Mother's Day cards done.  I am on a roll!  Love having a stock pile to use when needed.  So helpful as this past year I haven't had that much crafting time.  I have probably crafted in the last 2 months more than I did all last year!  Let's hope I get to continue to do some.  I missed it!

Outdoor Fun Layout

We often go for long walks and I like to take lots of different scenery photos.  Remember when I said I make a bunch of files when I cut them, well these little birds from KaDoodle Bug Designs I made for some winter layouts but they look just as cute without the winter hats on a summer layout.  The little deer looks cute and outdoorsy and will also be cute on the Christmas layouts that I had in mind when I cut them. And if I have some left, how about a I deerly love you layout?  That's at least 3 uses for these little deer and can look completely different depending on the layout.   And since I'm always on the lookout for cute outdoorsy files, I found a cute little set at Too Cute by Jessica for $.15 on clearance AND on  sale.  Can't beat that.  The little squirrel, skunk, and hedgehog come from that set.  Aren't they cute!

Shaped Monkey Card

Ok, so I love cute little monkeys, but I don't find a need for them in my scrapbooks very often.  So what is a girl to do when she sees a cute little monkey freebie from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  Well, turn it into a shaped card of course.  I haven't done a shaped card in a while.   I can't seem to ever get them to fold exactly even when I flip and weld and it bugs me if they don't fold exact.  Well, this one was no exception.  I even tried to shadow it so that I would have a wider base to "place"  him on and "fold" but he still didn't fold exactly right.  Oh well.  Hopefully whoever gets him won't care that the fold is slightly off.  I actually think it's because my cutter isn't "exact."  I can often cut two eyes on a project that are exactly the same and yet when cut, they are different sizes.  One of these days I might upgrade my machine but until then.....I will have to live with the little inconsistencies that it gives me.  Most of the time, it's no big deal but for shaped cards, I find it annoying.  Even with that said, I still think my little monkey card is cute!

Christmas Surprise Layout - Project Life My Way

Last year my 11 year old son did something so sweet for me.  He wrapped my gift in several boxes and then when I finally got to the last box, he sent me all over the house searching for clues, more wrapped boxes until finally I arrived at my gift that he picked out for me!  It was so sweet!  It was so thoughtful of him.  I don't know about you, but Christmas as a Mom is usually me buying and taking care of all of the Christmas stuff, including my own, so it was really nice to have him be so thoughtful and to do something special for me!  Love you bud!  Thanks for making my Christmas extra special!  (Yes, I am behind on my scrapbooking.  As a matter of fact, I did a layout from 5 years ago today!  Yikes!)    The little bird is a Kadoodle Bug Designs file and the stockings were a freebie from Miss Kate's Cuttables and the title is one I just created from my hundreds of fonts that I have.  Yes, I hoard those too!  LOL.
