AGAIN Tire blowout....

UGH.....we had ANOTHER blowout a couple of weeks ago. This one on the boat trailer. That makes 3 tires this summer and of course NONE of these could be repaired, they all had to be replaced....sigh.....Here's to hoping that the third one is the charm and we are done!

Old Man Birthday Card

I've been pondering what type of card to make for my Dad this year. He really has a sense of humor and so I was searching online and found this poem...(which I changed just a bit)....

Just because it is your birthday
Don't despair, oh no
Overnight you won't discover
You've lost your get up and go.
Nor will you become all wrinkled,
Nor ache from head to toe.
So even though you are ripening
Don't regard it as a blow.
You won't suddenly become decrepit....

.... Cuz Mom said that happened long ago!

When I read this I had to laugh and knew that my Dad would smile so....off on the search for the perfect "things" to put on the card. I LOVE MTC as it allowed me to find this funny old man to use on this card! After a few minutes of tweeking, here he is! LOL.... (and no, my dad really isn't that old but..... grin .....

The car came from here (Thank you so much Amanda!) if you want to grab it ... http://amkscrap.blogspot.com/search?q=1915+model+t

Anyway, it seems manly cards are the hardest, but I LOVE how this one turned out! Do you like my old man?

My daughter's frog....

Yesterday while I was making my other frogs, my daughter was playing with my light box and tracing/drawing some pictures of her own. She brought me this cute little frog and I couldn't resist. So after scanning him into my computer and then bringing him into MTC and manually fixing the breaks in the lines, this is now the cut file that I have for him. I actually haven't cut him yet, but it shouldn't be any problem. I love frogs, but haven't had any real cut files that I loved yet until now....yesterdays and this one. This one is my favorite! Thanks sweetie! I love him!

Frog and Fly

Isn't he cute! I love frogs, monkeys, and penguins. I found this image on Google images and knew he had to be a cutting file. I heard a saying that "If I were a frog, I'd eat anything that bugged me" and thought this was perfect! Anyway, I love how they turned out. This paper is really fun....it's Bazzill cardstock, but it has a shine to it which looks great! Anyway, just playing around and had to create and cut this. One of these days I'll figure out how to start to share files! I need to look into Box net to see how it's done.... Would anyone be interested in him?

Side step card - Owl

Well, when you have 1/2 a sheet of pretty paper left after one project, what do you do with it? Well you make another card of course! I actually like the one with the bear better, but this owl is cute too. I also like the bigger tree, but I chose this one so that it would actually fit in an envelope to be mailed so..... Not to bad, but I like my first one better....

Side Step Card - Bear

Ok...so Denise made a side step card template and you know I just had to try that one also. Now I can't decide which one I like the best....the side step card, the swing card, or the tri-shutter card! They were all fun! This one is for my Grandma who will be 93 this week. Can you imagine all the wonders and changes she's seen in her life? She's an amazing woman and I love her to pieces. My husband says my bear looks sad and asked if I was sad that it was Grandma's birthday....I may have to make another bear and make him happier...LOL.

Have you noticed that I haven't gotten any scrapbooking done yet? Yikes! One of these days I'll get on that...maybe when school starts again? Anyway, this card was really simple to make, especially because I had all the cuts predone and I just added them to the card. Fun huh! Ok...so now it's your turn, jump on over to Denise's blog and grab this file. She has amazing files on her blog and is one of the first people I ever found that shared files.... As you can imagine, I have lots of her files then...grin....remember to say thank you for the free file! We appreciate you Denise! Thank you! http://dscrapbookingroom.blogspot.com/2010/07/step-cards.html

I've had a couple of people ask where I got the bear file. I believe he was a freebie from http://www.treasureboxdesigns.com/ at one time. I added a light brown piece for his muzzle to add some contrast. Treasure Box Designs has really cute files that you can purchase for a reasonable price plus she gives away a free file every Tuesday. This week is a cute little school bus so go check it out!
