Valentine's Day Cards

These are the cards I made for my kids. The top one is for my son and I'm entering it into the People Who Need People challenge at Shopping our Stash and the bottom one is for my daughter. I hope they like them. I know my daughter will love the colors. Her favorite colors are red, white and black. Perfect for Valentine's Day. :-)

Frog Valentine's Day Card

Here's the card that I made for my hubby! Isn't it cute! I love the two different frogs...one saying Happy Valentine's Day and the other with his arm open wide saying "I love you this much!" The "I love you this much!" will make him smile as the kids and I have done this many times. Have I ever mentioned that I like cute little frogs....this one has jumped up to the top of my frog files....not my favorite, but close! His little image actually came from www.clkr.com and I just found him the other day and had to make him.  I think he turned out adorable!  I love new cuts that are free!  I think he turned out cute and I'll use him again someday!

Valentine's Day Recycled

This was such a fast easy project! LOL. If you look at the pictures, this paper and hearts are the wrapping from the gifts that I gave my husband last Valentine's Day on his gifts. I just "recycled" it and so it matches the pictures perfectly cuz it's the SAME paper! Plus, it served double duty. Gift wrapping now turned into scrapbook page turned into get that outa my scrap space after a year!  Plus...no waste! Gotta love that!  Yes...it did take me almost  a year to do it but.....better late than never!

Beautiful Winter Photos

If found this fun site today... it's called Simple As That and it's actually a photography site.  I loved the thought of sharing a simple photo celebrating the simple things in life.....just today, I asked my hubby to go for a walk with me so I could shoot a few pictures since the scenery was so pretty coming home from church.  These are a few of the photos I shot so I decided to share a couple.   We had the opportunity to go to a cabin and enjoy the winter for the weekend.  The peacefulness and beauty of our surroundings was amazing. The snow was so beautiful on the trees and really, it was majestic and definately God's country. We had such a wonderful, relaxing time....even if my daughter wasn't feel the best. We were sorry to come home but.....glad to capture a few shots of the beauty that surrounded us.   I want to blow up one of these pictures in a 16x20 size to keep, but can't make up my mind....any thoughts?  Help me break the tie!  LOL.  Thanks!

Christmas Jammies Mice Layout

We have a Christmas tradition at our house. Each Christmas Eve, our kids get to open one gift....and that gift is Christmas Jammies that they get to wear to bed that night. So these pictures of my kids opening their Christmas jammies! I used some more of these little mice. Believe it or not, the candy canes and ornaments and other items are left over cuts from last year! Better late than never and they look really cute with these little mice.

Strawberry Box Suckers

Aren't these fun! I decided to make these for the ladies that I go Visiting Teaching to in my church and for my son's teacher at school. I started on a quest to make something that was non-chocolate. Yikes! I know, right! LOL. For Christmas we gave my son's teacher a hot chocolate cone and she thanked him but later told the class that she doesn't like chocolate. I felt so bad and my poor son felt even worse! Especially since I gave her a little decorated box at Halloween full of chocolates! So....I needed a Valentine's idea that didn't involve chocolate and this is what I came up with. Inside is simply a blow pop sucker. I think they turned out really cute. I do know that this is NOT a project that I will make 25 of! LOL. I did end up making 8 of these....one for each of my family for Valentine's Day as part of their gift and the rest to give away. Something cute and simple. Just enough that says, "I was thinking about you." I've also seen these as just boxes full of candy, but I didn't have any other candy that would fit inside on hand and not wanting to go out into this yucky weather we are having, the suckers would have to do!

They are having a challenge at http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/01/cool-tools-week-die-cutting-challenge.html so I decided to enter this into their challenge!  How fun!

Christmas Border Monkeys

Oops.....I forgot I hadn't posted this one yet.....I had some time to scrapbook this holiday season. It has been so nice. I decided I'd better scrapbook the photos from 2010 before I can get 2011 photos developed! LOL. Here's how I used some more of those little monkeys. I like the little santa hat on this one. Cute cute!

Winter Layout 2

Posted by PicasaOk...here's those cute little trees again!  LOL.  This one has the dripping snow on it and I love the cute little bird in the tree.  The snowman is a file from Precious Piecings.  Isn't it cute!  LOL.  She had a huge sale and I bought around $20.00 worth of files so you'll be seeing some of them for a little while.  I've been trying to enter some scrapbook challenges lately.  This one is going into the Getting Scrappy Challenge.  I love how they only do scrapbooks.  I am mostly a scrapbooker and there aren't as many challenges for just scrapbooking so I love that I found this blog and I try to enter quit often.  Haven't been lucky enough to win, but love being inspired and allowed to create something that I actually woud love to do instead of cards or something for another blog somewhere.  Anyway....here is my layout for their snow/winter challenge.  If you'd like to join, jump on over and link up!

Valentine's Day Basket

On the MTC forum, they are having a Valentine's Day bag challenge.  They gave us this cute little bag file and I decided it would be another cute gift to add to my families Valentine's Gifts so I decided to play along. This is what I came up with. I think it turned out pretty cute! I'm thinking on my hubbies, I will add the same little frog that I used on his card and try to make all their gifts kinda match....in a theme but be similar. I'll post each of theirs when I am done. Anyhow, I think it's a cute little project and the box itself (without the bears) took less than 10 minutes to create...and most of that time was looking through my scraps to find papers that would go with the paper piecing that I already had done.  The bears are from MyScrapChick.  Thi s set is the first set of their files that I've ever purchased....got a whole huge set for only $4.00 so I had to give them a try.  I love them, but lots of little pieces!  LOL.  I wouldn't want to make 20 of those, but aren't these adorable!  Love them and for that price....I couldn't go wrong....and I didn't they are adorable!

I'm also going to enter this project into this challenge---for a child.

Dancing Bears - My Scrap Chick

My Scrap Chick was having a huge sale the other day. I was able to get an entire Valentine's Day Bear Collection for only $4.00 and couldn't pass it up.  I didn't even have to have a minimum purchase so I just jumped in!  LOL.   I had earned some ebay bucks and had a credit on my account, so when I saw her sale, I decided to give this one a try. I love it! Although I would have never been able to put it together without the pictures! LOL. There are a TON of little pieces with this set...right down to the tiny hearts on her heels, but isn't it adorable! I wouldn't want to spend as much time as this one took on every project, but this one turned out SO cute. It's hard to fight it when the end results are so fun! I have pictures from last Valentine's Day that I thought I'd use these with so I'll have to post the end result when I get there. These little guys are only 3" tall but cute cute cute!

I noticed the Little Scraps of Heaven was having a sketch challenge and so I thought I'd jump in. I still needed a few cards for Valentine's Day so I decided to use their freebie cupcake pattern and make a "Just for You" card for my daughter to go with her Valentine's Day gifts I am making for her. So....here is what I came up with. What a super cute cupcake pattern. I love it! If you'd like to join their challenge or browse her adorable files, jump on over to her site and stay a while. Coloring Snow and Snow Delicious Layout

Posted by Picasa

Here are even more winter layouts.  See my little trees on the second page again.  LOL.  This time I cut them in blue and added white snowflakes!  I then decided the oval one was so fun, I should try another shape so I used the triangle inside MTC and the oval.  I love them.  Someone said I confused them by covering up the photos.  Sorry about that.  I'll try to take my pictures before putting my photos on.  I was just trying to keep my children's faces off the internet.  LOL.   I love the font on these pages.  It's a free one called Harrington if you want to do a search for it.  It's really fun.  I did have to shadow it to get it to cut this small....less than 1 inch high....but still love it!

I'm entering this into the challenge here:

Winter Layout

Posted by Picasa

Do you remember my little tree that I copied from Whimsical Designs, well this is the winter version I made of it!  I love it.  I don't know why this silly little tree makes me smile, but I love how cute it is.  So I have now made them with flowers, with dripping snow, and today I made another cute set with snowflakes on them.  They make me smile.  I really like how the pine tree came out cut in white and then with blue snowflakes on it.   Basically, all these winter cuts just make me smile.  The seals turned out cute, the penguin is one of my favorites and the little bear on skates has been a favorite for a year!  LOL.  He's a leftover cut from some pages from last year and just fits perfectly on these pages for this year.   The little seal is from Precious Piecings and I can't remember where the little bear came from but he is so adorable!  If I can find where he came from, I'll post the link so you can find him too.  Anyway, as you can tell, I've been working on some winter pages.  For some reason, I love to do the winter pages and those always seem be scrapbooked quickly....they never sit for a year like many of my photos... Not sure why but.....

I'm entering it into these challenges:

Feeling Frosty Layout 2

Here is the second set of the Feeling Frosty layout that I was telling you about. Between this layout and the other one, I was able to get 34 pictures done! Yeah. Gotta love that! The Feeling Frosty set is from Scrapping Bug Designs and the little seal (his face is a Peachy Keen stamp) is a Precious Piecings file if you'd like to go take a peak at their designs. Thanks for looking!

Feelin Frosty Layout - Scrapping Bug Designs

I've been trying to catch up on some much needed scrapbooking. I have pictures that are a couple of years old....at one time, I was caught up, but having a cricut and cutting and making all my own embelishments takes a ton of time so....I'm behind again. LOL. Anyway, I got this cute little set from Scrapping Bug Designs and couldn't wait to give it a try. Between this two page layout and the second one I'll post a little later, I was able to get 34 pictures on 4 pages....yep.....34! Woohoo! And they ARE big enough to see what's going on and everyone's expressions. When I can do 34 at a time, at some point I may get caught up! I collaged them first which I have been doing a lot lately and love that I can get lots of pictures on my layouts. If I have a special one, I often scrap it a bigger size, but many of my photos are just fine collaged smaller. Anyway, I think they turned out fun. This pattern is mostly from Scrappin Bug Designs but the little bear is a leftover cut from some winter pages from last year. I love these little penguins. Penguins are some of my favorite things. I think I have different penguins on all my winter pages for the last several years. It's amazing how different and cute they all are in their own way and I just couldn't pass up these little penguins too even though I have several cute sets of penguins. Anway, they are cute. Run on over to her site and have a look around. She has lots of fun set! Thanks for looking.
