UR One in a Melon Layout

This layout was so much fun.  I love "shopping my stash" and using what I have on hand.  I like how the border paper somewhat matches my Grandmother's shirt and it was in my stash...I didn't buy a thing!  Love it!  Anyway,  I had some fun pictures of my husbands grandmother that I wanted to scrapbook.  She is going to be 95 this year and is such a doll!  I always tell him that if I had known how wonderful his Grandma was, I would have married him just for her!  LOL.  She is an amazing woman and one that I am so greatful that I have had the opportunity to know and love.  Anyway, Treasure Box Designs offered the Tutti Fruity set as a freebie not long ago and I had seen this title before and knew that it just "fit" for my Grandma.  So.....I set out making this layout.  The little whole watermelon is a freebie from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs and I just used the same little bear from the other set to "wrap" around the whole watermelon.  I know it's silly, but I like the "in" part of the title actually on the paper piecing as part of the title.  Cute cute.   Anyway, I like how this one turned out and fitting as she is One in a Million!

Thank Ewe Card

Here is a cute little Thank Ewe or I Love Eew card.  Perfect for that teacher at the end of the year or for just a note to a friend.  Fun fun.  The little sheep is a Treasure Box Designs file.  I love her sets!  Cute huh!

Father's Day Card

I won a contest on NSD at Pumpkin Spice and got to choose a prize!  How fun is that!  I chose the Happiest Moments stamp set by My Pink Stamper from their store here.  I love it and can I say that they had SUPER fast shipping!  Wow.  Love that!  They had some wonderful items in their store, but because I don't have many stamps, I chose this set because it covers the basic holidays.  I have to start somewhere!  LOL.   I'm picturing Valentine's Day cards, Easter goody bags, Halloween treats etc. with this stamp set! The asked me to create a project with the prize I won, so I decided to make a Father's Day Card since it is fast approaching.  Masculine cards are the hardest for me but....I like how this one turned out.  I had such fun doing easel cards for Mother's Day that I decided to do another one for Father's Day.  I still need to make my Father-in-Law a card but at least I have one ready to go and it's not last minute!  Hope you like it!  The pocket cut is from a freebie file from Designs on Cloud 9 that she shared a while ago.  I think it works great for a manly card!

Flower and Mouse Easel Card

I loved the color combo and cards that I made for Mother's Day that I decided to use the last of the paper and make another one.  This one I added the cute little mouse to.  I think it's adorable!  The little mouse is from Treasure Box Designs shared as a weekly freebie once upon a time and for more info on the flower, go down my blog and the link is included for this pretty flower.   Anyway, just thought I'd use up all my scraps especially when I liked the end results so well.  Everyone I have given one of these cards too really liked it so....if it ain't broke....don't fix it!  LOL.

Memorial Day Arrangment

We lost my Dad  a little over a year ago and as I was trying to figure out what type of flowers to buy to put on his grave, nothing looked right.  My dad wasn't a flowery type of a guy and so I started to ponder "what" I could put out at his grave other than flowers to honor his memory.  This is what I came up with.  I think it's fitting. At Christmas I did an evergreen spray.  I sure miss him and of course making a project like this is emotionally draining, but....it turned out well and I think he would have liked it.  Miss you Dad!!!

Lemonade Cards

Ok....while my friend was here the other day, she came up with this cute idea of making mason jar lemonade cards.  I think they turned out cute and were a lot of fun.  This is actually the first time that I have cut vellum and it turned out super easy.  No different than paper really.  Cute huh!

FIL Father's Day Card

This is a card that I made scraplifting an idea from Lisa.  Here card is shown below.

Here is Lisa's Card that I scraplifted the pocket idea from.  Cute huh!

Since Father's Day is just around the corner, I decided to make my FIL a card and followed a sketch from a challenge at Scrapping Bug Designs.   I scraplifted the idea of the pocket on the card from Lisa Juracek.  Unfortunately, I can't find her "blog" or where I got this so....here is the picture of her card  anyway.  My FIL loves to garden so I took the little tools from the Home Grown with Love set from Scrapping Bug Designs and made this easel Father's Day card.  I hope he likes it.  I have a hard time with masculine cards but I don't think it looks girly so I should be ok!  :-)

Double Scoop Ice Cream Birthday Cards

Over at Pumpkin Spice, they are having a birthday challenge.  My friend came over and we decided to make a couple of birthday cards to have on hand.  This is what we came up with!  Aren't they fun.  Who doesn't like ice cream?  LOL.  We put a white insert inside to make writing in them easier and stamped Happy Birthday inside.  We also decide to try some of our new twine.  I like how cute it makes the little tag look.  Fun fun!  It's nice to have a couple of cards on hand for those last minute gifts!

Lunch Bag Dino

My son had a rendezvous this week and he has been so excited.  One of the requirements is to take a cold lunch in a 100% throw awayable container.  So ... I pulled out the old brown bags and thought I'd add a little something to the front so that he would know which one was his quickly.  So here is his lunch bag for the day.  :-)

Hayride Layout

This was such a fun weekend.  We did nothing but play with the kids.  We took them to Winter Fest and enjoyed snowmobile races and stunts, vintage snowmobile races....many didn't finish....LOL..back then they weren't made to go that fast around and around.  Ha ha.  They had snow carvings and decorated snowmobiles...my favorite is this decorated snowmobile tow truck.  How cute is that.  We bought fun snowmobile masks for everyone but the best part of the whole weekend was the horse sleigh ride.  It was such a fun evening for a hayride.   My whole famlies favorite for the whole weekend was this ride....it was early evening....just starting to get dark and we rode for almost an hour for free as part of their weekend festivities.  It was wonderful.  The only down side was that behind the sleigh, was a little pony.  He had been trotting along behind that sleigh for so long that towards the end of the ride, he kept slipping and falling because he was so tired and to make matters worse, the rope had gotten pulled over his little eye and I'm sure that didn't feel great.  So as much fun as we had on the ride, we were glad when it was over so they could unhook the little guy and give him a rest.  You know...he had to take 2 to 3 steps for every step those big pulling horses took.  Bet he was glad when our ride was over too!

Birthday Mouse Layout

Here's the mouse set I was telling you about the other day.  I created this set from miscellaneous free files that people had shared.  I think it turned out really cute.  It is actually 3 seperate pages to hold all 19 of my daughter's birthday pictures on.  I still have her last birthday to scrapbook.  I couldn't bring myself for a long time to scrapbook these pictures because my Dad is in them.  We lost him just shortly after these pictures were taken and so I haven't been able to bring myself to scrapbook them.  As it is, I haven't really "looked" at the pictures much....just turned them upside down and used them for size so that I didn't have to look at them for long.  I hope someday, I'll be able to look at them in fondness instead of sadness.....

Anyway....I love this paper stack.  It's called Party Time by Christy Lyle 2009 and is part of the My Minds Eye selection.  It is such a fun birthday stack.  Every page is full of glitter and glitz.  I absolutely love the sparkle on it.  It makes for very festive pretty pages.  I wish you could see in the pictures how much sparkle is on this paper.  Sometimes the paper makes all the difference in the world....know what I mean.....

Gift Bag Cupcake Cards

My friend and I made a bunch of these cupcake cards.  They are the perfect size to attach to a gift or a gift bag.  We just used 3 sheets of paper and cut the same amount of each shape.  Then we just mixed and matched as we put them together and made a whole bunch of these.   Super cute and easy.  Love that.  I like having a few cards/tags that I can grab at a moment's notice.  These are cute enough for kids or adults alike.  :-)

Easter Tweets Layout

Here is an Easter Tweets layout that I did on NSD using a little freebie blue bird file from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  I don't have many of her files, but thought these cute little birds would look cute on an Easter page.

I'm entering it into these NSD challenges:

Tea Party Mouse Layout

My mom, Grandma, aunt and I went to a "Tea Party" last year.  It was one of those only happens once affairs and I've been trying to decide what to do with the pictures.  I finally decided to use mice since I've used bears on a lot of layouts lately and wanted to do something different.  I had created an entire birthday set using mice but haven't cut it yet.  I wanted to use it for my daughter's birthday pictures but she wants monkeys.....we'll see.  Since it's a whole set already done....I'm trying to get ambitious enough to create another whole set.  Hence the mice on this layout.  I had these mice already designed for them coming out of presents so I just transferred them into the teapot set.  I love these little teapots.  They were a freebie somewhere and I just added the flower to the front of them.

Mother's Day Easel Card

This is my first ever easel card.  I thought they looked fun but had never gotten around to it.  Today I was making cards and thought I'd better make some Mother's Day cards as it is creaping up on me really quick.  I found a couple of tutorials on how to make these.  This one was done using a 4 1/4 by 8 1/2 inch piece of paper and then adding a second 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square to it.  I found the tutorial at Splitcoaststampers and thought it was really easy. These are so easy that you don't need any cricut cuts at all.  Just a trimmer.  How fun is that!  Then you just decorate as you please.  My Mom's favorite color is blue hence the blue card.  I'm off to try a few more of these  my Mother-in Law and my Grandmas.  (Some how I'm a little out of order..... this was my first ever easel card but the others got posted before it..... oops...)
