Dragonfly Card

Posted by PicasaRemember that weekend that I spent making cards from a TON of leftover scraps that I had.....well, this is another one. Even the dragonfly was cut on leftover papers. The only paper that wasn't a leftover, is the actual card base. I still have lots and lots of paper scraps to use up, but I did about 15 cards that weekend all with scraps. Enjoy!

Summer Fun Layout

Posted by PicasaI love summer time! These weeks challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps was to use the warmth of the sun and your peachy keen faces so....here is a layout I created that radiates summer fun. Aren't these little faces cute! I only have the one small set and I'm hoping to win some more of their cute stamps. Here's to hoping!

Fall Picture/Layout

I love to decorate for Halloween and Christmas, but the rest of my holiday decor is slightly lacking. I've been toying with this idea for several months. I saw on someones blog how they had taken a tray with several compartments and filled each compartment with paper scrapbooking items and it turned out so cute! It was a spring one and was so adorable. Now one of the reason that I don't "collect" more items to put out over the additional holidays, is where do I store them while they are not in use? Well.....that is where this idea stemmed from. I thought, why couldn't I make a scrapbook size page with decor on it for all the different seasons and then just rotate the item in the frame. Cute decor, colors of my choosing, and easy to store, display and change whenever I want, then slip it into a scrapbook with a picture and dual purpose!...Hence, that is where this idea stemmed from. Now like I said, I have been toying with this idea for a long time. What prompted me to get going is that I saw a photo challenge at Getting Scrappy and I loved their photo and all the fun colors in it.....I also have a friend with a birthday coming up and I thought I should get busy. Then I decided to make one for her and one for me! After all, cutting out two of everything instead of one only takes a few minutes longer so......this idea has finally been started. To make sure everything was going to fit dual purpose, I basically just laid it out in MTC as a whole page and then copied each piece into a separate page to cut. That way it helped me get the sizes right. After some tweaking with the background paper, I decided it was good to go! The bird is a crow from Paper Crafting World here and the squirrel is a Treasure Box Design file here in their Treasure Box Pals set. The pumpkins are just basic shapes and I even hand cut the stems. Can you believe it! The other files were some I picked up along the way and even some punch cuts thrown in there. I really like the stacked hay....I needed something tall right there. Anyway, this was a fun project to do and I can't wait to do one for every season/holiday! Maybe even a special one to be displayed on the kids birthdays???? We'll see how far I get!

I'm entering it into these challenges:

The Buzy Bug Giveaway....

I'm so jealous! I so wanted to go to the scrapbook expo in Utah. I was even there that weekend but because of the timing and family things going on, I wasn't able to attend. However, what was bad luck for Karen at the Buzy Bug, might be good news for someone. She purchased a cartridge that she already had and so she's giving it away. If you'd like to try, jump on over to her blog and enter her giveway. How sweet is it that she's willing to share the wealth with us! So here's to hoping! Good luck everyone and make sure you browse her fun blog while you are there!

Wedding Tile

Ok...so I'm running late. LOL. This is actually a wedding gift for a wedding from July and I've never given to the family yet! How awful is that! So...since I saw it sitting there, I decided to take a picture of it and bring it upstairs so that I can get it delivered.... I guess better late than never right..... I'm so naughty.... this summer has just been so busy..... sigh..... for anyone who is interested, this cool font is called Regal and you can download it for free at www.fontspace.com or just google free regal font and download it from your favorite site. Anyway, this is the first one of these that I have tried. I really like how it turned out bu sadly, I still have the H one done for another wedding. Dang it! But in my defense on that one, it's cut and ready to go but I ran out of tiles and haven't remembered to get more. I'm going to add that to my shopping list now! I'll post that one after I get the tile to put it on.....anyway, I hope they like it even if it is late......anyone else had one of those summers?????

Cabin Light Fixtures

How fun. I LOVE a good deal. I found some outdoor lanterns that I liked and wanted to put them outside our family cabin, however, at $76.00 a piece, I didn't like that. The other day I was in at Lowe's and they had some of their lighting on clearance. They had the style of light I wanted, but it was in a funny silver finish instead of black....Well, on clearance for $21.00 for two, I brought them home anyway. A little black spraypaint with some silver flects in it left over from who knows what and a little outdoor vinyl and voila.....two metal outdoor lanterns for $21.00. Gotta love that! I love how they turned out plus I love how easy it was to add the outdoor vinyl to the glass.  Yeah....custom look for a fraction of the cost.  I love a good savings and can't wait for my hubby to see the final product.  I think he'll be impressed.  :-)  Do you like them?

I decided to enter in into these challenges
