Get Whale Gift

I have a friend who has influenza and feels pretty awful about now so I decided to make a little care package for her.  I won a challenge over at  http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/2013/02/winners.html and I just received my prize in the mail.  I get so excited when I get new scrapbook stuff that I just had to just use it now.  Anyone else like that?    LOL.  So I decided to use her cute little pocket and tag to stick on my friends "Get Whale" package.  I think it ads a cute look to a simple brown bag.  Thanks so much for the wonderful gift Laurie!  I love them!  In the bag I put some cold and flu items including a can of chicken noodle soup and on the tag a recipe for a cold/flu remedy that seems to help at our house.  I hope she gets feeling better soon!

Let It Snow Layout Reindeer

Aren't these little guys adorable.  I love them!  They are a set from Scrapping Bug Designs and perfect for my winter pages.  The shopping our stash blog is having a challenge to use your oldest designer paper.  I have so much paper, I don't know what is my oldest, however, I have had this stack forever so that should qualify!  LOL.

Finished Valentine's Gifts

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Now that it's actually Valentine's Day, I can share with you waht I made for my family.  Each of my family got a set of these in various colors.  You can see example on my other posts, but I like to take a picture of everything together so that I can scrapbook it with a picture of my family for the year so..... I can now officially post this because they have already received them and eaten part of the candy!  LOL.  I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Card

I needed to come up with a simple yet nice Valentine's Day Card with red, white, and pink paper, some stickers and some ribbon.  They needed to be able to be made quickly and I needed about 25 of them for a group of ladies to put together.  This is what I came up with.   To use only the supplies I was given so there wasn't any more cost incurred was hard for me.  I tend to create what strikes me at the moment, but all in all, they look nice, were easy to put together, and used only the supplies I had.  Without the embossing, it would be really boring, but that simple embossing makes a big difference.  This folder was one of my Christmas presents and so it was fun to get to use something new also.   If you haven't made your cards yet, there is still time to do a simple one like this one!  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Valentine Pillow Box

Isn't this little squirrel adorable?  He's a Designs on Cloud 9 file and I Love him.  He's the perfect Valentine creature.  I was going to use the saying "Nuts about you" but it was too long and didn't fit on the heart.  Inside the box is a package of peanut M&M's.  Yum! I made one of these for my hubby and each of my kids.  :-)

Each year, I make Valentine's for my family.  So here is a little treat box full of tootsie rolls for them.  They will get these with their little pencil holders and whatever else I get made before the holiday.  Two gifts down.... I have some candy bears that I'll have to do something with yet but that's a post for another day.

Love is all you need decor

After making a couple of Valentine's Day home decor items, I looked around and found an old frame that wasn't being used either so I decided to put something Valentine's related in it.  I think it's cute.  I think that I'll probably paint the frame red at some point, but for now it's ok.  It says "Love is all you  need."

Bear Card

I made this little Valentine's project and it tuned out so fun!  I love this little bear.  So perfect!  The flower, bear and stripes were made with all left over scraps.  Even the bow I recycled from a card I received in the mail.  The little eyes on the bear were done with a set of stamps from Treasure Box Designs.  Super cute!  Thanks for looking!

Father Son Layout

I had some pictures from a Father/Son outing that my husband, son, and Father-in-Law went on and I hadn't done anything with them.  So I decided to make a quick layout and get them into the book and off my space!  LOL.  Sometimes you just gotta move some of those pictures.....especially if they've been hanging around for a while.....

Customized Pizza Layout

This isn't acutally one of my favorite layouts, but it is one that tells a story about part of our everyday life.,  I've always heard that we need to capture some of the daily things and so I attempted to do that with these pictures and the story.  I'm glad that I have the story down, but..... The little bee bears are cute!  At one time I won some Bugaboo stamps and so I converted this one and made him into a cut file.    I think they actually turned out kinda cute.  Their images are adorable if you are a stamper.  I hadn't been to their site before I won these, but they had some adorable images.  You should check them out if you like digital stamps!  Cute cute files!

Bear in sleeping bag vertical border

Somehow, this one didn't get posted.  Not sure as I did it a long time ago but..... Anyway.....better late than never.  This was a border I did to go with another one I had done so that I could make a 2 page layout.   The little bear is a KaDoodle Bug Designs freebie.  He looks cute on the second page!  I always have outdoor cabin pictures that I need to scrapbook so they were put to good use!

Adore Valentine's Day Plate

Well, after I got done making my little love squares, I started looking around for something else that I can make into some Valentine's Day decor and came up with a black plate that I had originally bought to do as a wedding gift but hadn't gotten around to it.  It's been sitting in my "stash" FOREVER!  LOL.  Anyway, one of the challenges was to use my oldest bling so I decided to use the plate as I've had it forever and it's so shiny it has to qualify for bling!  :-)  I absolutely LOVE how this turned out and it is my FAVORITE Valentine project.  It looks so cute behind my love blocks.  All in all, not a bad day for decorating and using a bunch of old items.   Even the vinyl I've had for several years at least 3 or 4!  LOL.  Have I mentioned that I hoard scrapbook supplies?  Actually I shouldn't say I hoard them, but when I get a really good deal on something I tend to buy a LOT so I have all this surplus of inexpensive sweetness to choose from and I'm so grateful because it can make cute and inexpensive projects-when I get around to using it!  LOL.  The plate I think was a dollar store find and I used leftover vinyl from another project so this cost at the most $1.25!  SCORE one for me!  :-)

Homemade Valentine's Layout

Last year for Valentine's Day, my son wanted to make his own Valentine's for his class.  We had such fun although towards the end we were thinking differently.  LOL.  They were actually pretty simple and he loved the dragons and the embossing on them.  He decided to make pink dragons for the girls and green dragons for the boys.  We even used the cricut markers to put from him on them.  They turned out fun.  This year, he didn't want to do Valentine's at all....store boughten or handmade.  Oh the difference a year makes in the age of a child.  Love you bud!  These patterns are from MyScrapChick if you like them.  It is part of their Valentine's Day set.  I bought it for only $4.00 and there are a ton of patterns in it!  I figure it will be good for weddings also!

Love Blocks

Today while I was making Valentine's Gifts, it made me think about my home decor for Valentine's Day which is really lacking.   Last year I made a "Bee Mine" banner that turned out really cut, but that's about it.  So I had these little blocks sitting on my craft table from a saying that used to be in my kitchen that I almost threw away and it made me think that I should do something with them OR throw them away.  So....I revamped them to make this cute little Valentine's Day decor.  I like how it turned out... not bad for some garbage and some paper scraps.

Valentine's Day Pencil Gifts

I saw this idea on facebook at My Scrap Chick and thought it was a great idea! If you want their pencil, jump on over to their website and grab it.  It's really cute, but since I had this one, I just used it.  Their file is actually a little cuter though!  Anyway,  I love the idea of giving something other than candy.  Don't get me wrong, my kids will get some candy and so will my sweetie, but something else is a good thing too.  I liked these because once you pull out the pencil, you can use it as a bookmark.  Last year I made really cute bookmarks for my kids and thought these would be fun too.  They came together so easy, I ended up using a lot of scraps and making 10 of these to give to my daughter's music teacher, my son's school teacher etc. I even made blue one's for hubby and my son instead of pink or read!  LOL.  I think they are a cute way to say Happy Valentine's Day.

Bunny Pocket Card

Isn't this cute!  I love making pocket cards and I had a few paper piecings left over from some scrapbooking pages so I decided to use them to make some cards to have on hand for when I need one quick.  I think he turned out adorable!  I'm loving it!  Hope you do too!  (The bunny is Kristi W. Designs.)
