Candy Boquette

My daughter is having a special birthday this year and I wanted to do some different fun things for her.  I saw these "pop" bouquets last year but had no occasion for them.  This year I decided this would be a fun and cute item to make for her and have it delivered to her at school.  After I completed the bouquet, I had found a post where she had made these cute bows out of newspaper.  Well, I thought that it would be cute out of some of the leftover paper I had from other projects for my daughter's birthday so... this cute bow became the topper to my bouquet.  I think it adds a nice touch!  She's going to love it!

Homemade Bows

Ok, so you just gotta love creative.  If you know me, you know I always say I'm not creative on my own, but I copy well.  Well, here's another example of that.  I was sitting here the other night trying to get a news reader going.... haven't had one since google reader closed and I missed the ease of seeing all the cute projects created by everyone so I finally broke down and was trying to find one I liked.  Not sure if I'm there yet, but I did find one and imported all my old feeds into and stumbled across a post from a blog called "Older and Wiser."  I love that blog.  She uses all kinds of things to decorate her work and home.  Things that I would have never thought to use.  Well, she had the CUTEST darn bows on her blog made out of old newspaper....really?   Hmmmmmm....I just happen to have some of that down in my basement so off I went to find it.  She had also used an add to make a scrunchy bow.  Sitting next to me happened to be a fabric store ad so I just had to give that a try too.  Well and if that wasn't enough, my mind started running about all the cute projects I was making for my daughter's birthday party and thought....hey I have leftover paper from her birthday banner....bet that would make cute bows so....there you have it.  A lengthy story of why I have newspaper, add, and matching birthday bows.  You should have seen my husband when I started cutting up the newspaper, he said, "What are you doing?"  LOL.  Good thing he loves me right!

Bird Treat Bag

Over at AKA Abusybee they were have a challenge to use a button, bow or brad and over at KaDoodleBug Designs and Scrappy Moms Stamps, they were having a challenge to use one of their files for candy.  Then I found a sketch challenge at Die Cutting Diva's so I decided to combine them and this is what I came up with.  A cute little treat bag.  Aren't these little birds so cute.  Not to mention it gave me an excuse to use my twine.  Gotta love that!

Christmas Borders

I'm so excited, I have spent the last couple of days playing in my scrap room while it's been snowing. How fun is that! This is what I came up with, isn't it fun. And guess what, today they are doing a bloghop over at http://www.cookingwiththecricut.blogspot.com/ and I think I'm going to enter these into their contest that they are having. Wish me luck. I've never been in a contest before, but I think it will be fun. I have really enjoyed doing these borders lately. I've had the turtles and hedgehogs done for over a year trying to decide what to do with them. I think they are a fun twist to the normal Christmas stuff. What do you think? I can't remember who shared these ornaments, but if they are yours, please let me know so I can give you credit. As for the hedgehog, if you search my blog for animals, I listed the font that he came from. The turtle is an old cricut cartridge cut (like I said I've had then done forever!). After making the borders, I still have lots of pieces left over to put on the rest of the pages when I actually put them together. What do you think. I know it's silly, but my favorite thing on these borders are the little bows in the corners with the button in the middle. Why???? I have no idea, but I like them!
