I recently had surgery and wanted to create some thank you cards to give to all those who were so thoughtful of me and my family while I was down. I also got a new embossing folder and these thank you stamps and wanted to use them. This is what I came up with. My stamp platform made making a bunch of these so easy! I love it!

Generic Tree Cards
Well I started out trying to copy a cute little "love you to pieces" card that I found online. It was really cute and in the center of the card was a heart made of puzzle pieces. Adorable. However, when I "cut" my pieces, they didn't fit together quite right and so I scrapped that idea. I happened to have these little trees left over from a layout 2 years ago and they matched so my "love you to pieces" card, turned into a generic tree card to be used for whatever the occasion. It's OK though because I still like how these turned out even if they "weren't" the direction I was originally headed. Does that ever happen to you?

Shaped Monkey Card
Ok, so I love cute little monkeys, but I don't find a need for them in my scrapbooks very often. So what is a girl to do when she sees a cute little monkey freebie from Miss Kate's Cuttables. Well, turn it into a shaped card of course. I haven't done a shaped card in a while. I can't seem to ever get them to fold exactly even when I flip and weld and it bugs me if they don't fold exact. Well, this one was no exception. I even tried to shadow it so that I would have a wider base to "place" him on and "fold" but he still didn't fold exactly right. Oh well. Hopefully whoever gets him won't care that the fold is slightly off. I actually think it's because my cutter isn't "exact." I can often cut two eyes on a project that are exactly the same and yet when cut, they are different sizes. One of these days I might upgrade my machine but until then.....I will have to live with the little inconsistencies that it gives me. Most of the time, it's no big deal but for shaped cards, I find it annoying. Even with that said, I still think my little monkey card is cute!

Snowman Card and layout pieces
I've wanted to use this little snowman for a long time but as I said before, I haven't scrapped much this last year. Well they were having a snowman challenge and I knew it was the perfect opportunity to pull him out and make him! So I actually made 6 of these little guys and then a title to go with them to use on a scrapbook page. Since I couldn't resist using him right now, I decided to make a quick card too! A win win. A card and enough pieces to make a layout! Yeah! The snowman is called "vintage snowman" and he's a Little Scraps of Heaven Designs file and the title is from Miss Kate's Cuttables. Have I ever mentioned that I love MTC for the versatility of using files? I knew that the format of this title wouldn't ever really work on my page and so I just moved things around and adjusted the size so that I know it will fit. The snowmen I modified too to make the snowman actually only two cuts plus his hat and scarf. I don't like to glue on eyes and buttons so I just cut them out and put a black backing on it so they show through. Much easier!
