Happy Mother's Day Layout Page 1

Here's a Mother's Day layout I did with a freebie from Scrapping Bug Designs.  It's a Kristi W. file and is so adorable.  My son had gotten up early on Mother's Day and made me breakfast all by himself at the age of 9 so of course I have lots of pictures.  I still need to do a 2 spread layout to go with this one so I'm off to get it done so that I can get all my pictures recorded.  Have a wonderful day!

Diaper Cake - It's a Boy

I made this diaper cake for my nephew and his wife.  His wife loves frogs so I figured what better figures than frogs and turtles to put on it.  I loved these little turtles and I even got to use my Peachy Keen face stamps on them.  I think it turned out cute.  Who knew that diaper cakes would be such fun.  Makes me kinda sad they didn't exist when my kids were babies!  Guess, I'll just have to make them for others!

Easter Treats

I made these cute little gift cards for my family and gave them too them today.  I think they turned out so cute.  I love this little bunny!  He came from KaDoodle Bug Designs and he's perfect with my new Peachy Keen Face!  Also, all the paper used was scraps!  I haven't bought a new paper stack in over a year.  I'm trying to use what I have because I'm out of space!  LOL.  Anyway, I'm lovin it!  I hope they do too!

Happy Birthday Cards

I needed to make some cards for my stash.  It seems that I'm always out so....here are a couple I got done.  I used flower paper as a background for the Secret Garden Challenge at Red Carpet Studio and the Spring link it up.

Nurse Cancer Shot Card

A few years ago, I had a friend who I found out was a breast cancer survivor.  In visiting with her, she said one of the hardest things was people's reaction to her news.  She said, "People I'd known forever, now all of the sudden didn't know how or what to say to me, so conversations were uncomfortable."  Unfortunately, a few years ago, she passed due to brain cancer or I'd call her now and ask her for her thoughts.  I learned a lot from her and her family and always respected her and have always remembered this conversation.  I bring it up now only because we found out that one of our friends has breast cancer.  We are taking in dinner and I wanted to make a card but I wasn't sure "what" to put on the card.    I didn't want a "Save the Ta Ta's" card because we don't know yet what her treatment will be and not wanting to offend her in case she has to have a mastectomy, I wondered what to put on it.  I also didn't want to give her a card that says "I'm sorry."  Now maybe some would disagree, but when we lost my Dad and people said they were sorry, the natural response to that is, "Thank you but it's ok or we're ok or whatever."  Well the reality of the situation was that it was NOT OK and when people said they were sorry, I wasn't sure what to respond back.  Since then, when someone is struggling, I try NOT to say, "I'm sorry," because I don't want them to feel like they have to say it's OK, when it's not.  The reality is, it's hard, it hurts and it stinks.  I wanted to make her a card that let her know that we cared and are here for her.  This is what I ended up with.  The front says, "Give CANCER a shot in the _ _ _) and the back says "And when you feel up to it, let's do something.  In the meantime, you're in our thoughts and prayers."  We are delivering this card with a dinner for her family and thought we'd see if there was anything like cleaning, running errands, helping with the kids or anything else they needed help with.  I hope it makes her smile for a split second anyway and breaks the ice so that we don't have an uncomfortable conversation.  Any cancer survivors out there that have any personal experience on what helped them so that we can help our friends?  I've found in life that most people want to help and when they say, "Call me if you need anything," they really mean it but the reality again is that most people won't call.  So any thoughts on how we can show up to help, would be appreciated and if you received any thoughts or cards of that made you laugh or wisdom that you really enjoyed, please share so that we can truly pass it on to someone it might help.  Thank you!

Happy Mother's Day Breakfast Layout

It seems like everyone is doing Spring projects lately and I'm no exception!  I broke out the Spring colors (even though it's snowing again here today) and made a layout for my last years Mother's Day photos.  My son fixed me breakfast on Mother's Day all by himself last year!  Wasn't that sweet?   Bless his sweet little heart.  He's such a good boy.  I am eternally lucky and blessed to have such wonderful kids.  This paper is from a DCWV stack I think that I've had for a couple of years and the title and bear are left over cuts from a couple of years ago's projects.  I love it when I find something hiding in my stash that is usable on another project!  Makes my life that much easier!

I'm entering it into these challenges:

Riding the Rails Layout

I kinda like how this layout turned out.  I tried to model the train from our photos to the one on my page.  Love MTC for the flexibility that it gives me in these types of things.  I love that I was able to create what I was looking for.  I warped a railroad track from a set that I had to make the track on the bottom go from bigger to smaller.  I didn't want "choo choo" as the title so I searched for train scrapbook sayings and found a site that had several and I choose "Riding the Rails."   I love this font.  It's called Lobster of all things!  LOL.  What did we ever do before the internet?  Seriously!  LOL.
