Gift Card Holders

Over here at: http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-me-monday-47.html they are having a challenge on our favorite weather...spring, summer, fall or winter. Well, I'm tired of winter around here so I decided to do a spring card for this challenge and there was another spring challenge here: http://cardztv.blogspot.com/2011/02/all-about-spring-challenge.html. I decided after I was done that I liked this type of card so much that I made a second one, hence, the birthday card too. LOL. I also found this challenge here and it was to use pink so I had these cute little pink flowers left over from another project so I used the so I could enter this challenge also. Anyway, I found this fun tutorial here on how to make these really cute gift card holders. I think these will make a fun gift so I set out to use some of my leftover scraps. These are the two that I came up with really quick. The flower one follows the instructions exactly to the linked tutorial, but I changed my second one to make it a little bigger. I started with a piece of cardstock 5 x 10.5 and I scored it at 3, 4 1/4, 5 1/2, and 8 1/2. I then cut my top pieces to be 2 1/4 xs 4 7/8 and 2 3/4 by 4 7/8. I used a corner rounder on the corners and cut my slit just using my fiskars cutter at 3 3/8 inches long. Then I just used left over cricut cuts from previous projects, glued the bottom so the gift card doesn't fall out and done. Really a very simple project and how fun that the gift card pops up when they open it. Give it a try. It makes a really cute gift card holder. I like it!

Daughter's Valentine

Well if you saw my post a few days ago, I posted what I made as part of my son's Valentine. Well, this is my part of my daughter's set. She loves wolves and her favorite colors are red, white, and black so.....this is her set. She also LOVES chocolate so of course it is filled with chocolate hearts. LOL. She'll love it. Fire Station Layout

This last week, I found a site that is starting challenges for scrapbook pages. Yeah! I'm a scrapbooker at heart and many of the projects I do never end up on my blog as they are in my scrapbooks. I was excited to see a blog that was doing challenges for just that! So...this is a layout I did this week. I used the Treasure Box Deisigns puppies. Aren't they cute! I love how this layout turnd out. You can't really see it in the pictures, but the fire hydrants and the heart and flower are covered in glitter. This paper was from a pet glitter pack and I have LOVED it. As you can tell, I still scrapbook 8.5 x 11 which makes for a disadvantage in some ways as there isn't as much room to embelish, but I work with it and enjoy it! Valentines Bouquet

This was a fun project. I wanted to make a little something for my kids teachers and my Grandmother's for Valentines Day. I actually made 4 of these, but 3 looked better in the picture! LOL. The little containers are actually Weiler's juice containers. I knew I kept them for some reason. I almost threw them away a few days ago but I'm glad I didn't. They were the perfect size for these flowers. Each of these flowers has a sucker in the middle. Aren't they cute! I'm entering them into these challenges:

Son's Valentines

Well, here it is. This is part of my son's valentines gift this year. He reads a lot and the other day was asking me for another bookmark. He had lost the one he had before and he said he wanted a monster one. So I thought....hey what a fun idea to give to him as part of his Valentine's Day gift. And while I was at it, I decided to try one of these cute little carrot boxes which turned out so cute and adorable! You can't see it in the picture, but on the top of the carrot box is actually a stamp with a heart on it. It turned out so fun. I filled the little box with heart shaped Valentines candies and have his scripture maker left to do and I'm going to also try one of those gum holders if I have time. I think he will like them. I was excited to see that there was even a challenge this set fit into....they wanted a "non-traditional" valentine with no red and pink. I think this set qualifies! LOL. This little monster was a freebie from Treasure Box Designs. I think he turned out cute! Here's the challenge that they are going into...
