Family Fun Layouts 1 and 2

Ok, so the other day I was playing on pinterest and found another Out on a Limb scrapbook page that I liked.   I thought the colors and the trees were adorable.  So I set off to make my own version of it.  Here is their version.  Cute isn't it.  I like mine too!  Love the colors.  Isn't it fun!

Then I still had more pictures so I just did a simple page that will follow the first one in my book.  Anyway, love the results!  I just used the basic shapes from my MTC program and stole the stump from another tree I had.  I even had a little hedgehog left over from some I cute from  a file from Too Cute by Jessica and he looks just as cute on my page.  The little 4-wheeler is a Little Scraps of Heaven leftover cut too.  Love it when I can put these extras to use!

Spring/Easter Baby Birds Layout

Do you ever cut something out just because you thought it was adorable?  I admit, I rarely do.  I tend to only cut and spend time on cuts that I need for a page or a project.  However, I couldn't resist today and this has turned out to be one of my favorite layouts that I have done in a while.  Just because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those little birds in the nest.  I thought it would be perfect for Easter.  Lately I've been using a lot of cute little birds and lovin' them.  Not so much into owls like everyone else, but just cute little birds.  For this project, over at Miss Kate's Cuttables, they gave us this little freebie nest with eggs in it and in their buy it section, they came out with a nest with little birds in it.  I fell in love with those little birds and noticed that the shape of the bird was the same as the "It's your special day" bird that I had recently purchased.  So, I cut my little freebie nest that they gave us, added my "It's your special day" birds and then took the branch from another one of their files and voila!  I now have my own little version of their adorable file made with all their adorable files that I already had.   So so cute!  When I cut, I always cut extras - as many as will fit on the paper and so I have some little birdies left which fit  nicely on top and then grabbed some leftover flowers for the top corner and done.   Now I just need some pictures to put on it LOL.  And that is why I rarely do layouts without pictures first!  I'm not to worried because I know I will have some Easter pictures that would love to hang out on soon!  Some projects are just better than others and for me, this is one of those.   Anyway, now I'm off to go play with the left over cuts and see what other layout I can come up with!

A simple life layout

I had some of these little birds left over, a title left (I almost always make 2 titles at a time, that way if something doesn't cut right the first time, I should have enough for my project with the second cuts.  The bonus is, is that if it does cut right, then I have another to use somewhere else, like on this layout.)  Even the borders, grass and sun are left overs or duplicate cuts from other layouts.  Kinda cute for a bunch of after thoughts huh!   There was a challenge going on to use pink and yellow hence the yellow background and borders.  Yeah!  I keep entering into some of these stamp challenges in hopes that I can win some of their cute stamps.  I don't have very many stamps so I keep trying!  LOL.  Wish me luck!

Love You 2 Pieces Layout

Over at Scrapping Bug Designs, they came out with a new pattern with the cutest little black bears.  I thought about buying it, but it had a love title which I didn't really need so I decided to look through the bear patterns that I already had.  I found this cute little guy and decided that if I cut him in black instead of brown, he becomes a little black bear.  I LOVE him!  He's so cute brown but he's just as cute black!  I've also seen a lot of "I love you to pieces" files lately.  Well, since I created my own little black bear, I decided to just cut some generic puzzle pieces and make my own title.  I think this is such a pretty font.  It welds so nicely and it's fat enough to cut well.  A win win.  So this is my version of the I love you to pieces cut files that several of the designers have out now.  I think mine turned out pretty darn cute.  Love it when files can be versatile and used in a variety of ways which saves me money to purchase something else!  LOL.   (Most of all I love that handsome young man in my pictures!  He's an amazing son and I am so lucky to have him!)

Rainy Day Layout

I just love this little layout.  I used a variety of files to create this one.  Miss Kate's Cuttables, Designs on Cloud 9 and various others.  Now if I could just get my silly printer to work I could get the journaling on it and put it in my book.  I bought an Epson printer and I have hated it.  It will not allow me to use refill cartridges which means it's $40 every other month for ink.  UGH.  Anyone have a new printer that will allow you to use refill ink?  I'm ready to get rid of this one and purchase a new one.  Not only is the ink expensive, it also doesn't last very long but it takes FOREVER to print or copy anything.  Thinking I need to go back to an HP printer.  I just thought it would be less expensive to purchase the colors separately instead of an all in one cartridge.  Not so much if I have to replace them all the time.  I really don't do that much printing and it is so frustrating!  UGH.

4x4 Layout

Here's a 4 wheeling layout that I created using the little 4-wheeler from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  Such a cute little 4 wheeler.  I changed her title to just be 4x4 and like it better.  I also used the mountain from a Miss Kate's Cuttables file.  I love how it has the snow on the top and yet is only 2 cuts!  Love their files for there ease of use!

Christmas Jammies Layout

Here's our annual Christmas jammies tradition.  Each year, the kids get to open jammies on Christmas Eve.  This year is no exception.  Here they are opening their jammies.  It's nice to come home after our annual family party to relax, read the Christmas story out of the bible, and then open up their jammies before bed.  I love traditions!

You Are Beeutiful Card

I am just in love with this card!  Isn't it so much fun?  This is a cut file from Treasure Box Designs and I just love it.  I made it with the "Mom's are Beeutiful" title, but made a couple more with the title "You are Beeutiful" so it would be more versatile.  It turned out so adorable.  I'm going to give one of these to my Mom for Mother's Day.  I'm sure she will love it too!  So excited.  :-)  I'm not normally a card maker, but have had so much fun lately making a few new cards.  Fun fun!

A Special Gift and 96 or 69 Layouts

Happy Birthday Grandma.  At 96 she still has a sense of humor.  When we brought out her birthday cake, she said, "There must be some mistake, the numbers have been put on backwards."  So what is a girl to do?  Why switch those numbers around of course!  It as so funny.  Later, my niece came up and started to fix it thinking we had made a mistake and we had to inform her that we infact did NOT make a mistake!  It was so funny.  If I live to be that old, I want to still be living in my own home, have a sense of humor and still be full of life!  She is truly a fun, happy, old woman and one I would be happy to be like at any age.  She started to use a cane a couple of years ago and needed to switch to a walker to help steady her.  She said, "I'm not ready for a walker, those are for old people."  Ummm.... Grandma, at 95 we think that you MIGHT qualify but then again, maybe we have it backwards again!  Love you Grandma!

Eeek Spooky Layout

Here is a fun layout that I created using various files left over from other layouts.  Sometimes it's fun to mix and match and see what you can come up with.  Plus, when I use leftover cuts, the page comes together so much quicker!  Ha ha!  And some days, that's as good as it gets!

# One Pie Layout

At a church party, we had a chili and pie cook off.  My mother-in-law won first place.  It was no surprise to us as she is a wonderful cook but it was fun to see her get her chef hat and for Dad to kiss the cook!  Love it that we all get to be together for these simple life moments.  Once again, these are all left over cuts.  Gotta love that!  Plus it gets this pictures done...these are a few years old!  Some pictures just never "inspire" me to be done and sometimes it's just time to get them in the album or throw them away.  Since I hate to throw perfectly good photos and memories away, sometimes a quick and easy page is the way to go!  Done, done, and done!  And throw in a couple of challenges and it's even better!

Chick Happy Anniversary Layout

Every year for our anniversary, my husband and I leave kids with my Mom for a weekend.  This year we did a "stay-cation" and it was really a lot of fun.  We went to two movies, shopping, a couple different restaurants and even went on an all day drive where my husband picked huckleberries for the very first time.  I hadn't been picking there since I was a child and was surprised that I even remembered where they might be.  LOL.  They were tiny but still yummy!    I also love these cute little birds!  Aren't they fun!  I had seen a rainy day layout on Out on a Limb that had a similar one and when I looked through my files, I realized that it is almost the same bird from the It's your special day set which I recently bought!  Win win!  The rest of the cuts were actually get this "cricut cartridge" cuts.  Talk about use your stash.  I haven't used a cartridge in FOREVER and I'm talking years ladies.... LOL.  Better late than never!

Dear Santa Thank You for My Best Gifts Layout

Ok, still working on those stacks of older Christmas photos along with everything else so I decided to find some challenges.  Here is my interpretation of the following challenges....

http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2015/03/challenge-301-5th-of-march-recipe.html since I did this as a 2 page spread, I tried to use their 3,2,1 per page so their are 3 embelishments (gingerbread people) 2, papers, and 1 photo (image).  I'm sure by image they meant a stamped image, but isn't a photo an image?  If I was doing a card it would be easier, but on a layout, I think it works.  At least it works for me!  LOL.

http://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com/2015/03/challenge-1-border-craze.html borders - I opted to do only top and bottom borders because on 8.5x11 it can be really crowded even only using one photo

Happy Birthday Poster

Do you remember when we were kids, we used to make birthday posters to hang in the hall at school and everyone would sign them?  It was always fun and exciting to be remembered and to see what everyone wrote.  Well, it was my Mom's birthday the other day and so I created this Happy Birthday poster for her.  Let's face it, as we get older, birthdays aren't as fun as when we were kids.  I wanted something bright and happy that would hopefully make her smile and know that I loved her.  I also was able to actually pull off a family dinner where all my siblings and I got together at a local restaurant.  That in itself is an act of Congress!  LOL.  It was really nice plus I was able to get my sister and niece together to go to lunch with her on her birthday.  All in all, even though it wasn't the most exciting thing in the world, getting everyone together to share in her special day at the same time hasn't happened in YEARS so  it was really nice!  Happy Birthday Mom.  Love you!

Family Photos Layout

I found this cute little bluebird file from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs again the other day.  I just love this little guy and couldn't resist cutting him again.  Do you have a few files that you've cut more than once just because you love them?  I literally could cut a new file every day for the rest of my life and still probably not cut them all.  I backed up over 95,000 svg files the other day.  Yikes!  And yet here again, I am cutting this little guy again.  I cut him a couple years ago in green and blue and couldn't resist cutting him again.  Plus he happened to match the title I had made for family photos.  So here is a fun page.  I rarely do a page with only one photo, but I love this photo of my husband and I wanted to showcase it!
