Lion Step Side Card

I've been having fun trying to make some new cards.  I decided to try these step
cards.  So much fun.  I found that I actually cut it wrong and I ended up with 4 various versions of the same card, but since I had all the cut pieces, I decided to find a way to make them work and the plus side is that I like all 4 versions!  Yeah.  So keep your eyes open for the rest of them.

Monkey Happy Bday Step Card

I love these step cards.  I've been having so much fun making them.   Here's the correct version of my step cards.  As I said, I cut these wrong originally but since I had all these pieces cut, I decided to make them work.  Here's how this one turned out!  So cute and I even used my new bow maker to help make a cute bow!

Snowman Layout

I made some extra snow men the other day when I made my card for the snowman challenge.  Today I decided to use a couple of them on this layout.  So fun.  I love these guys.  They are Little Scraps of Heaven files.  I love her cuts.  I have lots of designers that I love.  I just need more time to work with all their files!  LOL.  I have so many I probably won't cut 1/2 in my lifetime!  ha ha ha.  Sad but true....any one else a file and paper hoarder with me?

.

Hugs and Kisses Card

Here's just another quick and easy Valentine's day card.  I can't remember where I got this file from as it wasn't categorized like normal but it made for a fast card and sometimes those are great!

Snowman Card and layout pieces

I've wanted to use this little snowman for a long time but as I said before, I haven't scrapped much this last year.  Well they were having a snowman challenge and I knew it was the perfect opportunity to pull him out and make him! So I actually made 6 of these little guys and then a title to go with them to use on a scrapbook page.  Since I couldn't resist using him right now, I decided to make a quick card too!  A win win.  A card and enough pieces to make a layout!  Yeah!   The snowman is called "vintage snowman" and he's a Little Scraps of Heaven Designs file and the title is from Miss Kate's Cuttables.   Have I ever mentioned that I love MTC for the versatility of using files?  I knew that the format of this title wouldn't ever really work on my page and so I just moved things around and adjusted the size so that I know it will fit.  The snowmen I modified too to make the snowman actually only two cuts plus his hat and scarf.  I don't like to glue on eyes and buttons so I just cut them out and put a black backing on it  so they show through.  Much easier!

Be My Valentine Embossed Card

This is the first time ever that I have created a card with an embossed sentiment.  I use the folders all the time which you can't really tell from the picture, but the white background is embossed but while digging through my folders, I happened across this sentiment and decided to try to make a card with it.  I always love how I can size my squares and cut them in MTC before assembling the card.  Lazy, I know but I like to have everything "fit" like I want and MTC shadowing allows me to do that!   I actually love how it turned out.  I also decided to drag out the twine and buttons which I also like on this card.  So much fun!  The hardest thing was keeping the twine from fraying.  What is your secret?  Sure makes it hard to thread when it unravels so easy.....

Santa I Believe Layout 2013

And here's the beginning of my project life style Christmas pictures.  I don't know about you, but I have a ton of pictures of my family opening their gifts.  Since I decided to do Project Life my way, I figured this was the perfect way to incorporate it into a ton of pictures so that I'm not still scrapbooking these in 4 years!  On average I usually have a couple of years of Christmas pictures to do and so I was determined to get these babies done as I have 2014's to do already too!  I love it.  I was able to spend more time on some of the other pages and not so much on the project life ones but they all look great together.  So glad that I was able to get these done.  I won't bore you with all of them but here's the first set.  All in all, I completed 8 pages worth of Christmas photos done.  Yeah.

Santa I Believe Layout 2

Here's another project life layout my way.  I'm really liking the flexibility that this new way of scrapbooking is giving me.  I have tons of Christmas photos always and so this makes a faster way to get them in pages because I am always behind on them.  LOL.  So here's another layout created Project life my way!

Valentine's Bird Box Card

Here's my second attempt at a box card.  These are so much fun!  Love how they are turning out!

Valentine Deer Box Card

This is actually my first ever box card.  I liked it so much I am making a couple more!  Such a fun concept.  This one will go to my hubby this year.

Bunny Valentine Card

Here's a cute little card made with a KaDoodle Bug Designs bunny.  I like him especially with the Peachy Keen Face.  Who says bunnies can't be for Valentine's Day?  So much fun!  This little bunny is adorable.  Next time, I will cut him a little bigger but....that's ok.  He looks fine right where he is.

Love You Valentine Card

After making some cards this year, I had a pile of "left overs" as usual.  So I dug out this scalloped circle leftover from last year and used these leftover cuts to make one more card.  Considering it was a bunch of misfit cuts, I don't think it turned out too bad!  LOL.  Love it when that happens.

Mine Craft Birthday Cake

My son loves Mine Craft like all kids his age so I tried to find a birthday cake that was Mine Craft.  Well, no one does one.  That won't work so here's my version of a Mine Craft birthday cake my way.  LOL.  He loved it and my Mom liked it so much she asked me to make some for my niece's son too.  Both boys were happy with their cake and so was this Momma. (I should have taken the picture with out the knives in the background so you could see the "layers" of mincraft items but.....)  Anyway, you get the gist anyway!

Valentine's Zebra Box Card

I made this fun little box card for my Grandmother who is 97 this year.  I've wanted to try one of these for a while now and so I decided to give it a try.  It was a lot of fun.  Now it can sit on her table to let her know that she is loved on this Valentine's Day.

Lights Layout

Here's another Christmas layout from 2013.  Every year we take an evening to drive around and see the Christmas lights.  This year was so exception.  The girls even got out and wanted their picture with Mr. and Mrs. Claus!  Silly girls.  Love traditions!

New Car Layout - Project Life My Way

Here's another Project Life My Way layout.  I bought this car two years ago and a couple months after I bought it, a lady backed into me and smashed my door.  I was so sad...thankfully the autobody shop did a wonderful job and my car looks great again.  To make it even better, my husband scheduled it a visit to a detail shop where they tinted my windows and added a spoiler!  Love it and my sweet hubby for making a bad situation better.

Homemade Bows

Ok, so you just gotta love creative.  If you know me, you know I always say I'm not creative on my own, but I copy well.  Well, here's another example of that.  I was sitting here the other night trying to get a news reader going.... haven't had one since google reader closed and I missed the ease of seeing all the cute projects created by everyone so I finally broke down and was trying to find one I liked.  Not sure if I'm there yet, but I did find one and imported all my old feeds into and stumbled across a post from a blog called "Older and Wiser."  I love that blog.  She uses all kinds of things to decorate her work and home.  Things that I would have never thought to use.  Well, she had the CUTEST darn bows on her blog made out of old newspaper....really?   Hmmmmmm....I just happen to have some of that down in my basement so off I went to find it.  She had also used an add to make a scrunchy bow.  Sitting next to me happened to be a fabric store ad so I just had to give that a try too.  Well and if that wasn't enough, my mind started running about all the cute projects I was making for my daughter's birthday party and thought....hey I have leftover paper from her birthday banner....bet that would make cute bows so....there you have it.  A lengthy story of why I have newspaper, add, and matching birthday bows.  You should have seen my husband when I started cutting up the newspaper, he said, "What are you doing?"  LOL.  Good thing he loves me right!

Summer Boating Layout - Project Life My Way

Here's another project life layout that I created based on my own pages and cut files that I made in Make-the-Cut.  Love how these can come together so quickly.  Yeah.  I'm so behind..... This will help me catch up!

Sympathy Cards

Each week over a Scrappy Dew on Facebook, Michelle is kind enough make the Mojo Monday sketch into a cut file.  Click on her name if you want the download to use for yourself.   I haven't downloaded them for a little while so I decided to pop on over and download them.   Well after downloading the file, I popped over to Mojo Monday to see what people were creating with this weeks sketch.  As I was looking through the challenge entries, I fell in love with a card by Cullen-aryCreations and decided to try to "copy" her design.  Since I didn't have her exact cuts/dies etc, mine is of course different (and to be honest, I still like her's better but....) I still like how mine turned out.  I have such a hard time creating sympathy cards that I decided to do 4 of these in hopes that I won't need them anytime soon but they are always nice to have on hand when you need one.  My favorite  one is the one with the real button.  I should have done that one first.  I almost never use twine because it takes a few minutes to work with it, but I always love how it turns out.  I should just force myself to do it more often.  LOL.  Do you have a product that you love the look of but not so much the getting it there?  Anyway, thanks for the inspiration Wanda!

So of course I had to enter it into their challenge....right?

Naughty or Nice Pop Bottles

This year our family Christmas party was at our house.  I wanted something to give to everyone that came.  I decided "Who doesn't like Mt. Dew?"  So I made these to hand out to each family as they left.  I think for a last minute thing they turned out nice.  This file is from My Scrapchick.  Cute huh!

2011 Christmas Layout

Well, I have been trying to get caught up so here are some layouts for Christmas pictures from back in 2011!  Yikes.  Better late than never.  One of these days I just might get caught up again but in the meantime, don't be surprised if you see LOTS of Christmas and vacation photos.  I'm so behind!  LOL.  Better late than never and it is good to finally get it into the album!   I love these little gingers though!  Aren't they sweet!

Cruise 4 Layout Sunkissed

Well, I need to start those vacation pictures sometime!  LOL.  So here is a layout from one of our family vacations last year.  I bought a whole stack of this yellow paper for the background and have been creating water, bears, drinks, clouds, sunscreen, trees, etc. to use of them.  Here's a quick page.  I love these colors together!  So fun!

Bunny Bag

I made this cute little bag to fill with treats to go with the card for one of my kids for Valentine's Day.  Such a cute little way to say I love you!

You're How Old Birthday Card

My brother just turned the big 50!  I couldn't help but tease him a little.  So I made him this fun card with a vulture on it that says, "You're How Old?"  and then for just a little more fun, I made a RIP sign that I put out on his lawn with a mound of dirt on it so it looked like a freshly dug grave.  Ha ha ha.  It was a lot of fun.  He's my big brother after all and he's been teasing me since the day I was born.  Sure do love him and couldn't ask for a better brother though!  Happy Birthday!

You Warm My Heart Layouts

These little critters were so fun!  I love them.  The birds are KaDoodle Bug Designs cuts, the title and deer are Miss Kate's Cuttables, and the hedgehog is from Too Cute By Jessica.  I think they look fun on my pages.  Love them.   I had fun with this layout and am entering it into these challenges:

Lion Card

They were having a super scraps Saturday challenge over at HIMCR so I decided to see what I had. Here's my cute little card made from leftovers and scraps.  Cute huh!  I had this little lion left over from a zoo layout and the striped paper was leftover from a birthday layout so they became this cute little lion card.  I thought the inside could say "I'm not lion, I love you" or "Just lion around thinking of you."  Good for a Valentine's card since it is coming up.  His mane is dry embossed.  I think that's my most used embossing folder....which is yours?

You Rock Layout - Project Life My Way

I haven't scrapbooked very  much over the last year, quite simply, because I ran out of time.  Making all my own embellishments and assembling them became so time consuming that I just hadn't done much.  So in trying to "catch up" I went to a scrapbook retreat which was SO much fun.  While I was there, many of the ladies were doing Project Life.  Now I have heard of it but I still scrap 8.5 x 11 and so the sizes just didn't work for me.  I did buy a bunch of page protectors in 8.5 x 11 and was going to use the same concept, but they were SO expensive and I have a couple boxes of regular page protectors.  Well, I finally had a brainstorm.  I decided to create my own project life pages in Make-the-Cut to fit MY needs in scrapbooking.  Wow.  It was really easy, it's geared exactly for the sizes that I use, and I can use the inexpensive page protectors that I already have.  I have 25 pages of "options" that I can use or modify to create my own project life layouts.  I just have to select the "pages" that will work with my photos, pick my papers, cut, and assemble.  It is so much faster.  Here's another example of my version of Project Life.  I did make my own embellishments but it's still faster than doing it the other way.  I still want to use the other way for a lot of pages, but this will be nice for "big events" that have TONS of pictures or just those odd pictures that seem to get pushed aside.  It works great.  Now I have more options in how I create and can save some time when needed.   I love options.....

I even found a pocket scrapbook challenge to enter it into!  Gotta love that!

Bird Treat Bag

Over at AKA Abusybee they were have a challenge to use a button, bow or brad and over at KaDoodleBug Designs and Scrappy Moms Stamps, they were having a challenge to use one of their files for candy.  Then I found a sketch challenge at Die Cutting Diva's so I decided to combine them and this is what I came up with.  A cute little treat bag.  Aren't these little birds so cute.  Not to mention it gave me an excuse to use my twine.  Gotta love that!
