Birthday Bear Layout

Posted by Picasa

Ok...the theme everywhere lately seems to be birthday and since I have two years of my sons birthday to scrapbook and one of my daughters, I decided to work on my son's birthday last year. I just can't get motivated to do the year before because it was before I found the wonderful feature called collage. We had a family party AND a friend "army" party with games, pudding mud cups filled with gummy worms, invitations and decorations. Needless to say, I have probably 40 to 50 pictures to scrapbook and I just haven't had the umph to get into it. I like to finish a project when I start it and I know that this one is going to take more time than I want it to. I did find a cute army toy font and cut a two whole pages of little army men in different poses to use and they are adorable and even match the ones that were on his cake but.....which leads me back to this layout. I will only have 4 to 5 pages total for this birthday and so I decided to do it instead. I LOVE how it turned out and in the blank space there is the perfect amount of space for four 4x6 photos. I see all these cute layouts where they have matted their photos with wavy borders and ribbon and such, but to me, I just don't see the point. Once I attach the pictures, you can't see those cute little mats anymore anyway. Maybe I'm just lazy but if I'm going to take the time to create it, I don't want to hide it under a photo! LOL. I'm in the middle of finishing the other pages that go with it and can't wait till they are done! Anyway, this fell at the right time for me to enter this into these challenges:
birthday page challenge here: http://melissascrappenplace.blogspot.com/
and a sugar and spice challenge here at K Andrew's Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky ...I think these bears are sugar and spice and everything nice! http://www.gettingcricky.com/2011/03/simply-sunday-challenge-sugar-spice.html

and bears for the zoo challenge - I actually miss the bears at our zoo. They used to be my favorite! Hopefully they will get some more some time soon. :-) and a create a layout for here: http://inkingitupcrazy.blogspot.com/2011/03/design-team-day-and-challenge.html

Anyway, I love how this layout turned out and it will look even better once I put the pictures on it!
